  7. What is FGP?
  8.  
  9. FGP is a program
  10. written primarily for people participating in Autosport's Fantasy Grand
  11. Prix competition. It allows the user to keep track of up to 100 individual
  12. teams. This is useful as Autosport only ever prints the top (and bottom
  13. <shudder>) 100 teams and most people aren't in there :-(

  15. Is that all it does?
  16.  
  17. Pretty much. It will however handle
  18. an entire season of results, rather than the less-than-half season
  19. used in the Autosport competition.
  20.  
  21. What will it run on?
  22.  
  23. FGP was primarily developed on the
  24. Amiga, but, by only using portable C code, it can also be compiled
  25. and run on other platforms. It has successfully been compiled on
  26. several Unix systems and I have been informed that it has compiled on OS/2.
  27. It won't compile and run under either Windows or MS-DOS (and
  28. similar) since it requires reasonable sized filenames.

  30. I've used an earlier version of FGP, what does version 2.10 offer me?
  31.  
  32. Well first, it's much faster
  33. than previous versions. This is not really important in a program like FGP,
  34. but the speed up is quite noticeable, particularly under Unix.
  35.  
  36. Secondly, it provides an improved version
  37. of the standard race ouput and two new complete-season tables detailing
  38. the scores obtained by the drivers and the teams in all races so far.
  39.  
  40. Thirdly, to accomodate disqualified drivers a
  41. new form of data file is being used.
  42.  
  43. Fourthly, it still reads the old data
  44. files so you'll only need to create new data files if you want to.
  45.  
  46. Fifthly, it allows comments in any of
  47. the data files it uses (with one exception).
  48.  
  49. Finally, it provides more error checking
  50. of the data files (no more Unknown drivers in the output).
